If there is one person who is not a fan of Google Books, it’s Nicholas Sarkozy, President of France. What’s going on is that since Google is interested in scanning old or out of print books and then offering them for free or at low prices (French books included) makes the program that the French government created (which is basically the same) with millions of euros nearly useless. After all, who would win an ebook contest?
And according to him, he’s as angry as a Frenchman:
“We won’t let ourselves be stripped of our heritage to the benefit of a big company, no matter how friendly, big or American it is”
He’s defienetly not the happiest Frenchman right now, is he?
